About PixForge
PixForge is a free AI-powered photo editor. Upload a photo and describe the edit you want in plain language, and PixForge generates the result for you. Alongside editing, PixForge also offers text-to-image generation, background removal, and image upscaling — four tools in one, with no software to install and no account required to get started.
Why PixForge exists
PixForge started as a side project with a simple goal: most AI photo editors either require a subscription before you can try them properly, or bury the useful features behind a paywall. PixForge takes a different approach — every visitor gets a free generation each day, with the option to unlock more by watching a short ad or buying a small one-off credit pack, rather than being pushed into a recurring subscription for occasional use.
Who's behind it
PixForge is built and maintained by a single independent developer, working on it as an ongoing side project rather than a funded startup. That means updates and new features ship when time allows rather than on a fixed release schedule, but it also means decisions about the product — what to build, what to charge for, what to keep free — are made directly based on what's actually useful to the people using it, not shaped by outside investors.
What's next
PixForge is actively developed. Recent additions include background removal and upscaling alongside the original photo editor, a cheaper AI pipeline for heavier usage so the free tier stays sustainable, and a growing set of guides covering both the core features and trending ways people are using AI photo editing. The roadmap ahead focuses on expanding those guides, refining prompt suggestions inside the tool itself, and keeping the free tier genuinely useful rather than a stripped-down trial of a paid product.
How PixForge works, briefly
PixForge uses third-party AI models to generate and edit images — a fast, cost-effective model for most edits, with a more capable model reserved for your first couple of generations each day. We don't claim ownership over the images you upload, and generated results are provided for your personal use. Full detail on data handling is in the Privacy Policy.
